Keynote Speaker: Dr. Freddie Barnard, Purdue University, Indiana
Professor Barnard’s expertise is in agricultural finance and farm management. He has had extensive experience in agricultural lending. He is the director of the Midwest Agricultural Banking School at Purdue University. He is also actively involved with the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Professor Barnard is past chairman for the Financial Criteria and Measures Committee and is currently a member of the Technical Committee for the Farm Financial Standards Council. The council recommends guidelines for financial reporting and analysis in agriculture. His presentation is on Profitability by the Numbers: What to look for, measure and record for business success.
Preceding our keynote is a presentation on Grain Marketing by Edward Usset, Grain Marketing Economist for the Center for Farm Financial Management
at the University of Minnesota, the developers of FINPACK software.
